HoverBar is Shareware. If you decide to keep it, you must register it by sending me your name, address, and $5 in US funds. My address is listed below.
Thanks to Larry Chen for making me write this, James W. Walker for his public-domain source code, Troy Gaul for his Infinity Windoid WDEF, and Matt Slot for unknowingly pointing me in the right direction with his appe Windows source code.
WHAT IT IS:
HoverBar keeps programs and clipboard data at your fingertips by storing them on bars that float over everything, no matter what program you are using.
You can create three types of bars:
• Icon Bars - Store the icons of files and programs for quick access. Drag a Finder icon onto the bar's plus sign to add the icon to the bar. Click on this new bar icon to open up the application/file/folder/etc. The bar icons are drag and drop aware, too. Option click on a bar icon and drag it around to change its position on the bar, or drag it to the minus sign to delete it from the bar.
• App Bars - Shows you the icon of every running program. Clicking on an application icon brings that application forward. Dragging a file onto an application icon causes the application to open up the file. Command click on an application icon makes the application quit.
• Clip Bars - A drag & drop clipboard. They don't work yet…
HOW TO USE IT:
Create new bars by selecting New from the File menu. Customize the way your bars work by choosing their names from the Bars menu, or by option clicking on their title bars.
Hide all of the bars by pressing Command-Escape. Press Command-Escape again to make them reappear.
Change general program settings by choosing Preferences from the File menu.
WHAT IT REQUIRES:
Either System 7.1 & Macintosh Drag and Drop, or System 7.5 by itself.
